Review: Liliko’i Kepolo by Avery Brewing Co

Liliko’i Kepolo by Avery Brewing Co

Brewery: Avery Brewing Co
Beer Style:  Belgian White Ale
ABV:  5.4%

Beer God’s Notes

Every time I see this beer I’m shocked that it’s Avery.  Not that I don’t think that they can make a beer like this.  I think it’s more the can art on it.  It just doesn’t seem to fit the typical Avery beer I’m used to seeing.

Needless to say, Liliko’i Kepolo is one of those beers that I think tastes a little better on those long and cold Buffalo winter days.  We haven’t had a ton of them yet, but I did have this on a cold night. It just brings out the feelings and tastes of summer. The passionfruit is there but not overwhelming and the Belgian White background of this just makes it an easy drinking beer.

Adding a tropical island flair to a spicy traditional witbier, Liliko’i erupts with monumental passionfruit aroma and acidity along with a sublimely succulent finish.
