Beer God’s Notes

Original Tasting Notes: Lots of grapefruit notes in this. Kinda sweet. Not overly bitter (45ibus).

I’m always surprised when I take the first couple sips of a beer with grapefruit added to it.  I usually either get a bit taste of grapefruit/citrusy hops or I’m trying hard to find the grapefruit flavor.  I didn’t not have either of those issues with Effortless Grapefruit IPA.  The grapefruit was right there in the nose and in the taste.  Sure, there were also lots of citrus hops in this.  But the grapefruit really shined.

I was also surprised at this only being 4.5%.  I haven’t had the regular (non-grapefruit) Effortless IPA, but now I’m intrigued.  The hops were really nice and shined pretty bright in this even with the sweet grapefruit notes.

Overall, this was the first grapefruit IPA that I’ve had that I would hand to someone and they would guess grapefruit as the first flavor every time.  I can definitely see this being a summer staple of mine.

Description

Effortless Grapefruit IPA

The only thing “effortless” about this beer is how it drinks. Domestic and imported malts take a backseat to the loads of American grown hops that are dumped into the kettle. Dry-hopped for mouthwatering aroma with Mosaic and Palisade hops, and infused with natural grapefruit flavor to add to the refreshment. Enjoy an Effortless drinking experience with our Grapefruit Session IPA.
