APPEARANCE:

Poured super dark, looked absolutely delicious.  I couldn’t wait to get a sip of this.

AROMA:

Just an awesome aroma coming off of this beer, as soon as I opened it I was assaulted with nice citrus and piney hop-notes.  Then came the nice roasted malts, just smelled incredible.

TASTE:

At first taste, I got a lot of the roasty-ness, then the hops kicked in and gave this beer an incredibly mouth-feel.  It hung around almost like a good stout did, but as soon as it was almost too much, it faded away and left me craving for more.  Seriously, as soon as I was done being shocked at the flavor they packed into this amazing anniversary beer, I was already finished with half of the glass.

OVERALL:

Such a great homage to the craft beer industry that is just booming in Colorado now, all because they started it there first.  Great history in this beer, and a unique style make this beer really nice.  Accompanied by really awesome flavor and a really nice green-waxed bottle–makes this beer great.

RATING:

4.5 out of 5

Original Tasting Notes:  Wow, just wow.  This beer has so much aroma coming out when I first poured it.  Okay, I took my picture, now lets get a taste.  Goddamn this is good, roasty and bitter –like the best combo of a stout in the mouth and an IPA in the flavor and aftertaste.  Just really nice.

Until the next beer:
