Review: Magnetic Compass IPA by Grimm Artisanal Ales

Magnetic Compass by Grimm Artisanal Ales

Brewery: Grimm Artisanal Ales
Beer Style:  IPA
ABV:  6.4%

Beer God’s Notes

I knew there was something different going on with this beer.  It’s absolutely excellent, but it had a really nice body to it. Then, I read the description and it all makes sense now.  It’s an IPA brewed with oats — which definitely explains the extra body in this IPA compared to all of the other (all amazing) IPA’s I’ve had from Grimm recently.

Magnetic Compass is definitely a recent stand out for me.  I love it, and now I want more.

Magnetic Compass
STYLE: Single IPA brewed with oats
ABV: 6.4%
COLOR: hazy, opaque gold

Magnetic Compass prominently features NZ Rakau hops, bringing a unique mix of candied orchard fruit, stone fruit, and tropical aromas with some light dank elements. Background notes of Citra, Mosaic, and Columbus. Very hazy and juicy. Roll your can to suspend hop particles and enjoy.
