Beer God's Notes

Damn this beer is dank.  Yes, I said dank.  This is one of those beers that hits you right away.  At over 100 IBUs and more than 10% ABV this is the definition of a “Big Hitter.”  This beer has the great combo of the bitterness of  a heavy double IPA and the sweetness or a barleywine. It drank a little too easy (for me) for a triple IPA, but it was so smooth and delicious that I finished it faster than I expected.

Waldo’s Special Ale is fantastic after a long day of work, or just a calm beer at the end of the day.  I’m glad that I had this and I will definitely be looking for more.  The price is right and the beer is amazing.

In 1971, the Waldos met one afternoon at 4:20 in the front courtyard of their school near the statue of Louis Pasteur. They set out in a ’66 Impala armed with a “treasure map” on a journey to find a secret garden near Point Reyes. They met there at the same time every day and continued their quest. They never found the secret garden….But they keep lookin’. The dankest and hoppiest beer ever brewed at Lagunitas was made with help of the Waldos for all treasure hunters.
