Beer God's Notes

An Imperial Brown Ale with tons (okay probably not actually tons) of coffee added to it.  Absolutely genius.  The flavors in the brown ale are really complimentary to each other.  The coffee is deep, dark, and rich allowing for a really amazing aroma.

Overall, Sumatra Mountain Brown was a quick new favorite of mine.  It’s not “Stout Season” right now, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t enjoy coffee in another beer — and this beer is definitely that beer.

If you like rich and delicious brown ales, porters, or stouts — I can almost promise that you’ll like Sumatra Mountain Brown.

This bold, imperial brown ale gets its body from a team of malts including Caramel malt for sweetness, flaked barley for dense foam, a bit of Chocolate malt for its deep color and Aromatic and Munich malts to add even more depth. German and Perle hops add a touch of bitterness to balance the malty sweetness. The addition of rich Sumatra coffee takes this perfectly balanced imperial brown ale to a decadent level.
