Beer God’s Notes

Original Tasting Notes: this is really really tasty, but will definitely be a beer that’s more for the wine drinker friend you have.  It has some of the lambic-like sweetness and a little, almost saison kick to it.

I was really excited to try this beer out.  It sounded delicious and really tasty before I even opened it. Upon opening it, I noticed a really nice sweet berry smell wafting from the can.  I poured it and saw this brilliant red beer. I tried taking pictures for 20 minutes to capture just how red it was, but since it was late when I was drinking this I couldn’t get one to do it justice. I’ll have to take another one soon to add to this to show just how red this beer is.

I didn’t do much reading about this before I tasted it other than what was on the can, and I was surprised by just how fruity it was.  I’ve had other fruit beers before that felt like they overdid it, but this one hit the mark.

I think this is an incredibly approachable beer by both veterans and rookies to the Belgian beer world. Next time you have a wine-drinking friend that says “I’ve never had a beer I’ve liked” give them one of these and see if you can change their mind.
