Brewery: Mispillion River Brewing Co, Milford, DE
Beer Style: American Pale Ale
ABV: 5%
This was pretty tasty. A really nice and mild American Pale Ale. When I see “american” in front of a style, I assume there is going to be more hops than normal. This had more than an average pale ale, but it wasn’t overboard or anything. The first beer I had from Mispillion River may have been bad, or I was just in a terrible mood (I’d had 2 other beers go bad the same night). This beer redeemed them for me. I LOVE the artwork on this and all of their cans. I kind of wish I could try the others now!
Space Otter is a 5% ABV pale ale and prominently features Azacca and Citra hops, which provide citrus and tropical fruit notes. This beer was first brewed as part of Head Brewer Ryan Maloney’s series of beers focusing on the palates of staff members. Space Otter in particular was brewed for brewery owner Eric Williams, as his beer of choice is the pale ale. When naming the beer, it became quickly apparent that it should be named for Williams’ spirit animal, the otter.
Space Otter is available year-round in twelve-ounce cans and on draft in Delaware and Maryland.
