Original Tasting Notes: This might be one of the smoothest barrel-aged beers I’ve ever had. @hoppinfrogbrewery Rocky Mountain BORIS
This was incredibly smooth. So smooth that I wasn’t upset at the price point of it. Granted I shared this with a few friends over an almost shared birthday. It’s a lot easier to spend $20 on a bottle of beer when you know that numerous people are going to enjoy it.
The boozy characteristics that are usually prevalent in BA beers like this were missing. Instead, you got the nice caramel and oakiness without that punch-in-the-face booze.
I’ve had the regular B.O.R.I.S. and this is a definitely step up from that. If you’re looking at this now, and wondering “should I?” — yes, yes you should. Buy it and share it with friends. They’ll thank you later.
