Southern Tier Brewing Co submits two new barrel-aged beers for label approval

According to labels filed with the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) Southern Tier Brewing Co has submitted two new labels for approval with the TTB.

It looks like we’ll see the return of Rum Barrel Aged Pumking with what appears to be a new label which sports this description:

“Imagine our inimitable Imperial Pumking Ale as the captain on the high seas, flying the Jolly Roger.  The ‘King sails for ports unknown in this limited release. Rum Barrel Aged Pumking has been kept like secret treasure in the hollows of the brewery, patiently awaiting discovery. Yo ho ho!

Enjoy Rum Barrel Aged Pumking now, or keep it hidden standing upright in a dark and cool place until you can say ‘anchors aweigh'”

Another addition to their Barrel House Series: Monstrosus – Imperial Stout Aged in Bourbon Barrels to which the label describes:

“Prepare yourself for Monstrosus, an enormous imperial stout from our barrel house series.  It was first brewed with black malt, chocolate malt, and roasted barley, then aged for a year in bourbon barrels.  Over those many months of confinement, Monstrosus developed into a wildly complex and rich creation. It is one that we’re proud to have given life, even if it happens to terrify the townspeople.  Better keep a torch handy. Cheers twice over.”
